I made a comment on my channel yesterday saying, "I'm sorry" and today, I received many comments back asking why on earth I am "sorry". So I thought that I should explain.

To make the story short, my computer crashed this summer. Due to viruses and shit that honestly shouldn't exist but they do anyway. So I had my computer cleaned, and now most of my things are gone. My SIMS files are saved, I was smart enough to back them up, but my SIM games are not installed yet and I feel sooo bad for saying this, but I LOST MOST OF THEM.

So, while I try to look for them, feel free to be pissed at me. I know those you are all waiting for the fifth episode of FHA, but I can longer guarantee when and if another episode will come out.

Today, I got a comment that said "It's been a year, I'm going to unsubscribe". Those of you who are thinking the same thing, please do whatever you want AS LONG AS YOU DON'T COMMENT WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING TO ME. I don't want to upset myself because people are angrying at me.

I know many have made updates like this. Maybe you think they're making excuses, and maybe they really are. But I'm not and whether you believe me or not, its up to you. I didn't want to even make a shitty video about this, but as I have explained before, I wrote a simple comment on my channel and confused a lot of people and I apologize for that.

If you can understand what I am going through, thank you. And if you can't, thank you anyway.

ALRIGHT! I AM REALLY UPSET. This update is going to be me ranting. What I'm about to say might sound offending,however, I would just like to point out THAT I'M NOT TRYING TO SOUND OFFENDING. I know I haven't uploaded anything new in seven months. And you have every right to be ticked at me for not uploading something. But I don't appreciate getting rude comments by people threatening that they will "unsubscribe if I don't upload anything soon". LIKE WTH? Ever heard of politeness? Would it kill you to ask me "Hey Michiyee, I can't wait for ____ to come out. Can you tell me when it will? I don't want to subscribe to someone who doesn't upload any videos" instead of writing such other messages?! If you don't want to stay subscribed to me, THEN UNSUBSCRIBE. Threatening me isn't going to rush me. I constantly am giving you guys updates. You know I don't have time to make videos. I am not the same person as I was three years ago - who could make four or five videos non-stop in a week. That person is long gone. I have grown in the last three years, and if you haven't realized - I HAVE MY OWN LIFE. I have other more IMPORTANT things to be doing rather than playing with my Sims all day. I always have assignments to do, essays to write, projects to complete, tests to study for, exams to study for. Do you think I would honestly neglect my school work for Sims?! Com'on, just grow up. UNSUBSCRIBE if you lack the slightest paitence in you body. There are plenty of other Sims series on Youtube. Why do you have to nag me about mine? While you wait for another episode of FHA to come out, why can't you watch something else? I'm sure there are plenty other series that are 1. Much better than mine and 2. They upload videos faster than I do. I know you want to see what happens to the FHA characters, but please PLEASE PLEASE times a million PLEASES could you bare with me for a few more weeks or so? I never have free time anymore and when I do, I don't feel like working on my series. I don't enjoy making series as much as I do and if those who keep nagging me continue to nag, I must just not make anything anymore. AND YES I JUST THREATENED TO YOU BACK! (LOL). Alright, I'm sorry that the people who are decent and kind to me have this read this stupid rant. And I'm sorry to the people I writing this message to - I'm sorry for sounding rude - but I'm just trying to tell you the truth.

Hey guys, I know it's been almost 7 MONTHS since I last uploaded an episode of Freako High Academy - and I just wanted to say sorry. As already mentioned a month or two ago, my computer is acting up or lack of a better term - PMSing on me. Good news is that I fixed the problem. However, the bad news is that I rarely have time to start filming anything. I'm sorry, but you have to be a little more paitent with me. I WILL FOR A FACT get something out during the Spring Break - AND I AM 100 PERCENT SURE I WILL! I'm sorry again.

OK.

I really hate my computer. For a while now, it has been loading everything slow. The internet is slow, and pretty much all other programs are the same thing - including the 'Sims 2'. I don't know what's wrong with it; I've already gotten it 'fixed' a couple of times in the past few weeks.

I think this is possibly the worst time that this could happen. I mean, seriously, I have major assignments and exams coming up. Couldn't my computer decide to act this way after this time. GAH! >:|

Well, since I'm losing my paitence with my computer, I will not be filming the fifth episode of FHA anytime soon. Not only am I too busy, but now I have to fix my computer.

I'm sorry. Hope you will understand. But I'll update you on what's going on with my computer and FHA later on in the new year :)

Too Much

I'm sorry I have to tell you this guys, but the next episode of Freako High Academy is currently on hold for a while. I just have too much to deal with in my life to worry about FHA right now. School is driving me insane, and because of it, I barely even time to complete an episode - let alone think! So that is why, FHA is on a little break right now.

But don't worry, because the break will only be a while and not like last time XD. Episode 5 will probably come out during the Christmas holidays because by then, I should have the time to be able to complete a video. So do you think you could wait until then? I'll try to post a trailer of the episode soon, so you guys won't have to wait TOOO long ;)

Yes, I'm finally planning the fifth episode of Freako High Academy. Planning shouldn't take too long, and neither will filming. It is just the editing that will take me a while. I'll try to get this episode out by the end of November. I repeat, I SHALL TRY! TRY! TRY! I don't know if I can make an episode by that time because I have just received more presentations and assignments and tests -_- but I'll see what I can do.

Alright, so procrastination might NOT be a good thing. But I got to start this blog off with something positive, don't I? Ok, so here's the deal. I know I constantly repeat this: but school is driving me insane. Essay after essay, seminar after seminar, test after test - I just can't handle making another episode of FHA right now. I wanted it to come out by Halloween, but I don't know anymore. We'll just have to see.

Alright, so I couldn't help it. So many people asked me for some episode five spoilers and I just couldn't say no. I'm nice like that. 1. So now, that Hunter, Jacob, Dawn, Bibi and Ms.Fox know that Puppet Emma is not the real Emma, they are determined to find out what happened to her. And that just might happen if only they could listen carefully to their surroundings....Hmmmmm

2. Victoria and her body-less mother are not done with Emma yet. Same goes for Emma as well, who is trying to use her own newly-found power as an advantage.

3. A new secret is revealed that I KNOW 100 PERCENT will shock you all - but it will be more of a shock to our dear vampire; Hunter.

Freako High Academy 2.04 IS OUT!

YES! The fourth episode is finally out. I was so happy when I uploaded it despite that it took nearly four hours to render it in sony vegas and another three hours to upload on to youtube. But then...stupid youtube muted the damn video! >:/ Like WTH? I checked if the songs used in the episode were good AND THEY WERE! It pisses me off. I want to do something about it, but there's no way I'm going to re-render it and re-upload it again with new music! And I'm upset because I liked the song choices I made in this episode. Usually, I pick random songs that have nice beats. But in this episode for some reason, I chose songs based on the scenes. >< It's not fair :( I have a tiny solution, but it still leaves me unsatisfied. Boo! Long time since I wrote something here. It's been a whole year! *Cough, cough - nah only a few weeks* I know I'm a bit late to say this, seeing as a month of a new decade is nearly over, but I still want to wish everyone a new year :)

Now to the main purpose of this blog. Hmmm. Oh YEAH! I'm done my exams. Yes, all of them. I know what most of you are thinking - horray, more videos, I'm going to see what happens to Emma and the evil vampires. Finally the second episode of the new season is complete and what a pain in the ass it has been.
I had a few problemos with the episode, and bless me for having such paitence and grace. If I didn't have those two qualities, I'd probably smash all the Sims 2 discs, get a hammer and just destroy my beloved computer. That's how bad it was :o

First off, the game loads very slowly and to be honest, it ALWAYS has. But this time, it took much longer! MUCH LONGER! I had to cut off a scene with Puppet Emma and Hunter (also because of the time I had left) because everything was taking too long. But I think the episode came out fine, right?

For episode three, everything will become much clearer. You'll see why and how Victoria's mom lost her body and how Emma's dad was involved. Emma's dad will come (alive this time) and you'll see him in the past. And if Emma and her brother aren't human, then what are they?

Anywhoo - back in to the purpose of this post.

Since it's time for school again, I just wanted to say that I won't be making any videos as the same rate as I use to.

The second episode of Freako High Academy, Season Two will come out most likely at the end of the month. I still haven't planned much of it yet, so I'll take the next few weeks trying to figure out a smooth layout. Please be patient with me :)

I'm also thinking of trying to do a voice over series (again). I haven't had much luck with VO's-series in the past year. Limitations and Silver Wind never made it that far - which pisses me off. I want to actually complete a VO's-series or at least get farther than I did with the other two series. NOW THIS IS NOT FOR CERTAIN! I'm just thinking. THINKING. I have a tiny layout in my head as to what the series would be about. The genre is more or less horror with a little hint of action. Supernatural topics might also be involved.

So what do you think? Should I make a series with voice-overs? Comment on this post with your opinion.

"Remember Me" is OUT!

Problems: I think this video pissed me off the most. Somehow, my sony vegas started to fuck up, and it almost fucked up my computer. (LOL! that's a lot of fucks in one sentence.) I was almost going to give up on this video. It was really starting to annoy me. To make matters worse, my windows movie maker wasn't even working. I was like, "Damn, this can't be happening!" But eventually I solved the problem. Strange thing is - I didn't even know what I did.

Process: It wasn't really easy to create the video. Most videos take me about one to threes weeks to make. This one probably took me longer to make; perhaps because of the green screening and the camera angles. There is no doubt that in every scene you see, there is atleast some green screening involved. To make the stars move and twinkle - green screen, to make the woman and the man walk to the moon - green screen (DUH!), to make the pirate ship look like it's moving - green screen. Uhh, I think you get the idea. I was really picky when it came to the green screening because I wanted it to be perfect. But after a while, I gave up seeing that I was going no where. Thus you might see some scenes have better green screening than others.

Synopsis: When hearing the song 'Boats and the Birds' by Gregory and the Hawk, I always get the same image in my head. Thus, tis what inspired me to create 'Remember Me'. The video is about a woman who fantasizes over a handsome man; whom she has just met. That night, she dreams about him. In her dream, the woman tries to get the man's attention - but has not luck. The girl figures if she can't have him, she atleast needs something to remember him by. Thus, that would explain why she see's white roses all the time; it's a symbol of the man.

Freako High Academy is BACK!

Emma Fox and her friends are back with more action-packed episodes. I once stated that the second season would be out in April, but I lied; because I couldn't think of a major plot theme for the season. Alright, so Emma got bitten by that vamp (Victoria) while she was trying to find her date (Brock). UHHHH.....what next? O_o For months I was clueless, then the ideas just hit me recently; within a few weeks ago?! I know, I'm bizzare like that.

I don't know how many episodes this season will hold; but what I do know is that this will be Freako High Academy's last season (>.<) Who knows, maybe I'll end up adding another season later on...but as of this momment; it's A NO-NO!

I plan to air the 2.01 around my birthday (07/11). But that may change, depending on birthday plans.

*The episode will be dedicated to Michael Jackson who just recently died. (1958-2009) RIP*

Google/WMG/Youtube

If you go to Google and type in 'WMG' in the search box, what do you see?
The first thing you will most likely see are articles stating that WMG music is no longer used in youtube anymore. Why is that? Why is WMG music not used?

I've been doing some research (call me a geek....if you wish) and I've learned a few points about the situation. For one thing, Google is part of the blame. (more information here) At the end of 2008, Youtube and Google released reports stating that professional content creators, including record labels, TV networks and movie studios, would have the opportunity to authorize the use of their content within the YouTube community. (more information here) But so far, WMG has been using this opportunity the most. Why? Perhaps for money, but there could be other reasons.

This somewhat sucks because a lot of people like to use the music from WMG in YouTube videos. I; for one thing like to use A LOT of their music. If you check all my videos, there's only a few songs which are not from WMG. And because of this, most of my videos have been removed or muted - and I hate it! But I'm not the only one. Others hate it too; even artists whom have Youtube accounts and can not even use their music in their channel because of the company they work for.

What can we do about this? Well, YOU could watch these videos for pointers: 1 2

A: More than a month ago. Wow. O_o

Ep.10 is going to be the second last episode of the series.
I haven't decided if I might continue 'All We Are' with the next generation.
I might do it, I might not.

Ep.10 is most likely going to come out after Christmas.
I have to re-write the script because I changed my mind on something.
Oh MY Gosh! It is going to be the best episode yet. [I can only hope, really]

I'm doing 1 more season of 'Freako High Academy'. After that, I might do a continuing series about it. [That part's not official...yet] FHA might come later, after a couple of months. April? Maybe? IDK. Let you guys know later.

I don't know. Still deciding on who gets Keira, still waiting for the 2 male actors to send me in their lines. [Avery and Ray] and still deciding when I should actually start filming it. It's coming soon. You just have to wait. Hopefully, it'll be worth the long wait.

Hey! Just giving you an update, before school starts. I start school on Tuesday (which sucks) and I might have barely any time to make videos to upload. To keep to busy, here's a list of what I might do in the future:

After Limitations and FHA [SEASON 1] finish, I will be doing another sims 2 machinima. It will be called 'Dark Realm', but I dont' want to give too much away. All I can say is that they are voice overs.(which I have already chosen without any auditions)
All We Are will be lasting a little longer than I thought. The last season has about 20 episodes. And once I finish SEASON 4, I will not continue the series. I will be doing a new one called 'All We Are: The Next Generation'. This series will have the old characters from 'All We Are' with all their kids.
I will be doing some more music videos in time. I just don't know when. My last music video I uploaded was 'Crush' ; a song sang by David Archuleta.

I use 2 editing programs; Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 and Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker is rather simple, alot easier to work with than Sony Vegas. If you're a beginner at movie making, I recommend you use the easier editing programs first; such as Windows Movie Maker.
If you're a risk-taker or more of an expert movie maker, I recommend you use programs like Sony Vegas, or Magix Movie Edit Pro.

Lesson 1: Forming an Idea for a Movie

So you want to be a machinima director, eh? Got tired of watching all these amazing Sims 2 videos on YouTube and decided that it's your turn to create a masterpiece and reap in the praises? Well, you are not alone. There are many people out there who want to be noteworthy Sims 2 producers. But what seperates the pros from the, well, n00bs? Well, for one thing, the pros have studied up on different methods for making sim videos look realistic. They know how to use that camera to thier advantage, and they know how to edit videos well to create illusions. And they most likely know how to tell a good story.

A movie is only as good as the artist who creates it, and well, without good storytelling skills, he or she may not get the critical acclaim that they want. No matter how good your camera and editing skills are, your movie will be a flop unless you can tell a good and coherent story.
Let's think about why we watch movies in the first place: we watch them primarily because we want to be entertained. We want a good storyline that we can follow easily, and we want characters that we can connect with. We want real-life situations, and we want them to be resolved, either for the better or for the worse. We also like movies that aren't so realitic, the movies that are fantasy ridden. Most people watch movies like that when they wanna get awhile from reality for awhile. And we are also all suckers for twists and turns. We wanna be thrown off. We want to be able to say "didn't see that one coming!". And most of the time when all of these prerequisites are not met, we go home saying that it was a piece of crap, or maybe it was "ok, but it would have been better if...". Great camera angles, wonderful editing and kickass special effects are all nice, but when it all comes down to it, a good story is king.
Which brings us to the first step to making a Sims 2 movie: coming up with an idea. Now, this sounds easier than it really is, and for some people, it may be the most treacherous step of all. Usually ideas won't come if you sit at your study desk, pondering away the entire evening. Ideas tend to just happen out of the blue, or at least they have in my experience. They may be inspired from anything: a song, a book, a series, a magazine article, a bird flying into your windshield while you are driving to work, whatever you can think of. The trick to coming up with an idea is to engage in the activities that inspire you, and to be observant of your environment, whether it be at work, school, the mall, your grandma's house, etc. Be persistant and take heart, and eventually an idea will come to you.

Another good way to come up with an idea for your movie is to watch plenty of other people's Sims videos, no matter where they may be. The more videos you watch, the more open you are to new ideas. And you can take different elements from different videos and come up with your own ideas. If you're worried about originality, take a look at what it means to truely be original: originality is simply taking what others have done and meshing them together in such a way that you create something totally new. This is what it truely means to be an artist.
Watching plenty of other people's Sims videos will also benefit you in the long run, because you can see and take note things that can be done when creating Sims videos. And sometimes the creators of the videos will be nice enough to share thier little movie making secrets with their audience.

Once the first sparks of an idea comes up, play with it. See if you can make up a good plotline with what you've got. If you can't add to it, or you simply don't like the idea, then discard it. Remember, you need to believe in the project you are working on for it to be successful. How can you expect your audience to like your finished product if you yourself do not like it?
Decide if your video will be a music video, a general movie, or a series. This will be important in the planning of your work. And each is different from each other. Music videos, since they have no spoken words, are usually more simple, and the song being used is usually the one doing the talking for the video. That being said, the storyline is often simple so that it is easier for the audience to follow. A general movie, on the other hand, does have spoken words and will depend heavily on dialogue to keep the audience captivated. Most people use subtitles for these, but if you can use voiceovers, and have skilled voice actors, then great! It will add much more depth to your movie. General movies rely on a good storyline, with twists and turns, to survive. A series is a collection of shows, like what you see on television. Some people like to devide thier series into seasons. A series needs an extensive plotline, with plenty of twists and turns, to be able to carry out for a long period of time. If you can't build off of a plotline and keep it going for long, then you probably shouldn't consider doing a series.

Once you have decided which type of video you will do and have an idea all planned out and squared away, then you are ready for the next step, which is prepping for the video.

Lesson 2 - Prepping For Your Movie

Preparation for a movie usually takes the most time in a production process. Preparing for a movie means going around and downloading different things from various sites, building sets, creating the cast, and making sure your movie editor is squared away. I'll go over each topic in much greater depth, but for this lesson, I'll just briefly explain each.

Downloading Hacks/Custom Content

Now, you don't have to go around downloading custom content and hacks for your movie, but hacks will make things easier when you're in the middle of shooting your film, and custom content just makes everything prettier. If you don't want to use custom content, at least save yourself some pain and get hacks that will help you.
Some people tend to think that you can't make the video look good if you don't use custom content, but this isn't true. It typically takes more craftsmanship to make a movie look spectacular with no custom content, but it is do-able. Sims in The Sims 2 tend to look more cartoony, and so if you want a greater degree of realism, you'll have to play around with the sim's features a bit. The best method of doing this is to use Body Shop. There will be more information on this when we get to the "creating the cast" part.
Even if you don't download custom content to put on your sims, you should at least download some custom items if you think your movie will need it. For example, if you want one of you sims to hold a gun in one of the scenes, you will need to download a custom made handgun because there is no such item in the game.
If you're so new you don't even know how to download things to begin with... that will be discussed later on.

Building Sets

Building sets for your movie is very time consuming. It typically takes me more than one weekend to build all my sets. This is because you have to visually map out what your set will look like (and even sketch it out if it helps you), then you have to build it (which can take a long time because of mistakes or change of mind), then you have to decide if you want to use custom objects to furnish it, and if you do, then you have to go out and find some stuff. Building the set shouldn't stop with the house, though. You should also spend some time working on the landscape and making the outside just as pretty as the inside. And don't waste your time on rooms you aren't going to use. Sometimes you have to build extra rooms to add more dimension to the set, but if those rooms don't have any other use, than just leave them.
There are plenty of tools that you can use to make a nicer set; many of which most players unfortunately overlook. In the upcoming lesson for building sets, I'll show you different tools you can use and how you can use them.

Creating the Cast

The cast is one of the most important aspects of your movie, obviously, because they carry out the actions of your story. For this reason, it is important to create characters that are colorful and realistic. There are many decisions to make when creating a cast: you have to decide everything from skintone to hair, clothes, facial structure, eye color, etc. It may sound easy enough, but once you do it, you discover that it's alittle more arduous than you originally thought. In that case, create characters that you like, because as stated before, how can anybody like something that you put out if you don't like it first? But keep in mind that your audience has to either love or hate them depending on their role in the movie. If they are the hero, then glorify their features and make them pleasant to look at. If they are the villian, make them hideous, or emphasize something to let your audience know that they are the bad guy. Create memorable characters that your audience either love to love, or love to hate.

Your Movie Editor

Obviously, this is very important, because once you get all your movie clips, you need a program that can string them together. This is where your movie editor comes in. If you don't have a movie editor, get one. Otherwise you won't be able to finish making your movie! Most advanced movie editors that have more editing options will cost you some form of money. If you want a free version, the only free version I know of that runs decent is Windows Movie Maker. Though this program is limited to something like Sony Vegas, it is free, easy to use, and gives you basic editing tools so that you can make your movie. Though the power of Windows Movie Maker is lacking, you can still make a great video (for example, my "Starlight" music video was made using Windows Movie Maker). I'll be going over movie editors more when we get to the editing lesson.

That's the end of this lesson, but please keep in mind that I will going over each topic in greater depth in future lessons.

Lesson 3- Dowloading Custom Content to Use in Your Movie

So, you've decided that you want to take advantage of all the awesome custom content that is out there? Great! I have a list of great sites that offer a myriad of custom content in my Useful Links section. If you already know how to download, then there's not much I can say but to have fun searching for things that you like!
However, if you DON'T know how to download, then here is a brief guide to doing that:
First, go to a site where there are downloads, such as modthesims2.com (I recommend that beginners use modthesims2 FIRST, because most of the tools needed to download custom content is there. Plus it is very beginner friendly). Some sites require that you register in order to download their items. Modthesims2 is one of these sites, but all of their stuff is entirely free to download. Some sites are NOT free, these are called "paysites", or sometimes they call themselves "donation sites" to make it sound alittle more inviting. They typically do have nice things to download, but you'll have to pay, or "make a donation" to download the items. Sites like Peggysims2 are paysites. Some of them have sections where you can get free downloads, but don't count on it, and don't count on those downloads being spectacular. There have been people who have rebelled againest these sites, but I won't mention it any further here. If you are REALLY itching to know what I'm talking about, then message me at my Youtube Channel or something.
I typically steer away from paysites. My philosophy is that since I've paid so much money for my sims games, I shouldn't have to pay more money to enhance it (especially since stuff packs are outrageously overpriced). There are many nice things for you to download on free sites, though, so no need to panic.
Anyway, when you get to the site, click "Downloads". (I apologize for these images being so large but if I made them any smaller it would be harder to see).

You will see that all downloads are divided into different categories. Click the one you want (I just circled a few that you'll probably want to browse in for your movie).

For this example, I've clicked on "Body Shop", which has everything you need to customize your sims.
Next, you'll see categories for hair, eyes, skin, clothing, etc. Pick one (for this example I'm clicking on "clothing").

Once you click on "clothing", you'll see that there are yet MORE categories you can choose from, depending on what age and gender you want. For this example, I clicked on "Female" then "Adult". Then you'll find you have even MORE options to choose from, mainly what type of clothing you are looking for. You don't have to specify what you're looking for, but if there is a specific type of item you are looking for, then narrowing it down helps you find it quicker. For this example, I selected "Everyday".

Now browse the selections for awhile until you find what you like. Click on the black link when you find something that interests you.

Read any information that the creator gives you. This is critical and many people don't do it. You need to read the description to tell if you can download or not.

Now you need to get WinRAR. What is WinRar? It's a file extraction program. Most files you download from sites will be zipped in either .zip or .rar archives. You need a program that can unzip them. This is why you need WinRAR. WinRAR unzips both .zip and .rar files, and it never prompts you to pay for services, even though it claims it is not free. Click here to get it. Just go to where it says "Localized WinRar" and select your language. Choose "Run", and then let the program install.
After you have WinRAR, you are ready to install your custom content. You will notice that your downloads look like little bookstack icons.

BEFORE we install the files, though, run your game. Load your neighborhood. When you get to the neighborhood screen, click on the button with the three dots (look at the picture).

Now choose "Game Options" (it's the little gears).

Now where it says "Catalogs Display Custom Content", choose "On". That way custom items will show up in all of the "catalogs" in your game (you know, like buy mode and Create-A-Sim). You might as well choose "On" for where it says "Display Custom Content Dialog at Startup". Doing this will pull up a notice when you load the game, alerting you to the fact that there are custom objects and hacks in the game. You will need to choose "Enable Custom Content" for all of that to show up in your game (not for body shop items, just objects and hacks). You can go back and turn that off once you have enabled everything so that the same pop-up doesn't appear everytime you get on the game.

When you are done, get off the game.
Now go to your desktop. Go to My Documents, then click on the EA GAMES folder. Now click on The Sims 2 folder. Now click on Downloads (if you do not have a Downloads folder, you can just create one by right clicking somewhere in the table, then scrolling over "New", then selecting "Folder". This DOES work. The reason you didn't have a Downloads folder is because you never opened up Body Shop, and Body Shop creates a Downloads folder the very first time it is run. When creating the folder, make sure you put "Downloads" as the folder name, otherwise anything put in it will not work).
What I like to do is drag the downloads from the desktop to my Downloads folder (I create sub-folders in my Downloads folder to organize my downloads. You might wanna do the same).

Next, right click on the download, then scroll over "Winrar", then select "Extract here". The files will jump out of the zipped archive and into the folder.

You don't have to do it my way. You can just extract the files onto your desktop, and then drag them to your Downloads folder. However, my way is alittle less work. NOTE: There's an error that picture. The red should read "These files come from here". lol... oops.

After you've extracted the files to your Downloads folder, you're DONE. FINISHED. You can delete the archive. Now comes the true test. Get on your game and go to Create-A-Sim. Look through your outfits, and the if you find the clothing you downloaded, congratulations! You've successfully downloaded custom content! That wasn't so hard, now was it?

It may take a couple of game re-boots for the content to show, but if it persists on not showing up, first make sure you have turned on everything I told you to turn on above. Next, go back to where that custom content was and double check to make sure it didn't a mesh, or specific EP's or SP's to work. Make sure that the mesh that you downloaded is the right one. At the end of this lesson, I will provide a link to an alternative Downloading Tutorial that has a whole section on troubleshooting if for some reason you can't get your content to show up. Also, for objects (like household items), you need the CEP (Color Enabler Package) in order for any object recolours to show up in your game. You can get that here.

Now, I often get asked how one can install a custom object or a hack. You install these things the exact same way you would anything else. If it comes in a zipped archive, you install the same way we did above.

Lesson 3-b: Using Hacks in Your Movie

Even though "hacks" may sound like a bad word to some people, they are really every movie maker's best friend. Even if somebody does not wish to use custom content in their movie, it is still strongly recommended that they use hacks. Hacks (or mods) come in two forms: Object Mods or Global Mods. You don't have to be a modder to understand the difference between the two. Object Mods are hacked objects in the game, and usually the creator just adds extra actions to the object that you can choose from when you click on that object. Usually the actions added to the modded object are extracted interactions from the game, and therefore when you choose one of the actions upon clicking on the object, you can force the sim to a certain action right on the spot. An example of an Object Mod is Decorgal's Talking hack. It is a wall hanging that, upon clicking on it, gives you access to a multitude of different talking interactions.

Global Mods are mods that change the behavior in your game. Usually the creators of global mods will take a basic idea in the game and then tweak certain aspects to create something totally new. Some people tend to think that you need to buy something from Buy Mode and place it in the world to make global mods work. Not so. Global mods do not require that you use an object to make the mod work in the game. However, bigger global mods may include a special object that when spawning it, it gives you the power to control how the mod will work in your game (but you do not need to use them for the mod to work. Global mods can also be described as hacks that affect ALL of a particular object (or objects). Essentially what this means is that, say somebody hacked a refrigerator so that visitors could make their own meals. It would only be a global mod if ALL refrigerators were changed to enable this. Otherwise, if the hack applied to only one of the object, it would be a local mod. Global mods work automatically, without your help). Some examples of global mods are the Inteenimater, Two Jeff's "Autonomous Casual Romance (ACR)" mod, Squinge's "Hula and More" hack, and Numenor's "No Z's While Sleeping" hack. There's a vast diversity of global mods, so whenever you are checking global mods out, make sure you read what the creator says about their hack.

In order for hacks to work in your game, you need to make sure that custom content is enabled. Remember when we turned on the "Display Custom Content Dialogue Box At Startup"? As you might have already seen, when that box comes up, you have the option to either enable or disable custom content. You need to enable custom content whenever you install hacks (at least the global mods), otherwise your game will automatically disable them.

Global mods are delicate flowers. Sometimes when you pair them with other global mods that do almost the same thing, those new mods will be like weeds to your global mod, and there will be a power struggle between the two mods to win dominance over the game. The result will be unwanted behaviors in your game, such as the exceedingly annoying "Jump Bug", where, upon your sim fulfilling an action you gave them, the action is suddenly canceled, and your sim is left standing there as if they were never issued an action at all. This happens amongst Inteenimater users who happen to pair the gigantic mod with a mod that does similiar things (such as other Teen Woohoo mods), but I'm sure it's not just limited to Inteenimater. Try not to mix global mods that are incompatible with each other. Most modders test their mods extensively with other popular mods before putting their finished product out, and they will specifically tell you which mods their mod is and is not compatible with. This is mainly for large mods that change huge aspects of your game. Smaller mods like Numenor's "No Z's While Sleeping" mod, which affect only one minor aspect of the game, really do not face any kind of compatibility issues (unless it's EP's we're talking).

As for which mods to use for your movie, it's up to you to figure out what you need. There are basic mods that every movie maker should have, mainly those mods that make it easier for you to force your sims to do certain interactions that are hard to achieve in game.

These are just some of the many mods you can use while you are making your movie. You may decide that you don't want some of these hacks in your game while you are just playing normally, but you may wanna just keep the hacks for when you start filming again. For this reason, I would create a Temporary folder in your Downloads folder that you can put in all your hacks/clothes/anything you are using strictly for your movie, so that when you are done making your movie and want to play the game normally without the extra baggage, you can just simply remove the Temporary folder and put it somewhere safe until you need it again.
Just look around different sites and decide which mods will be most beneficial to you while you are filming. Search around modthesims2 and insimenator; those sites have a lot of helpful modders who have created some pretty awesome mods. Or check here for a brief list of other useful movie making hacks you can try.
Hacks, when used alongside cheats, make the production process a lot less stressful.

Lesson 4: Writing a Script

You should decide early on in your production process if you think you will need a script or not. In most cases, having a script is a good idea because it is a structured plan that you can follow throughout the filming. Scripts are especially important if you plan to have dialogue in your movie, if you plan to make a very long movie or series, or if you plan to be working with other people on your production. In the professional world, scripts are used all the time for everything that you view on TV (even for paid programming!). I typically do not use scripts for music videos, although you can do it if you think that it will help you (for music videos, it makes alittle more sense to use a storyboard than a script. If you're good at drawing, take advantage of that and try to plan your music video by creating a storyboard. You can also use a storyboard alongside a script for movies. That way you can visualize the movie while creating dialogue for it). But if you are going to be making an actual "movie", then writing a script is not only smart, but vital. I learned this from experience.

Writing a script isn't easy. It takes alot of time and work on your part. Some people may feel like a script does nothing but confine their creativity, but the truth is that it's the opposite. Structure isn't there to confine you. It's there to guide you. And after you are done writing your script, you'll be glad that you did it because you will now have sight of how your movie will turn out. So a script is not just a guide, it also serves as a coach for you. It'll be a heck of alot easier to plan your movie if you write it all down first, and then execute what you've already planned on paper. And it's all because a vision cannot come true if you don't plan it first. It's how they do it in Hollywood.

Script writing is a craft all it's own, and so I can't possibly make a how-to guide because there's just too much to it. However, there are plenty of books out there that deal with the art of the screenplay. One such book that I am reading, and highly recommend, is "Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting" by Syd Field. Mr. Field spent an entire career writing and reading scripts, and figuring out what makes and breaks a screenplay. His book is a step by step guide that will show you what you need to do to write a structured script. And he uses plenty of examples from blockbuster movies to make his points. You don't have to read any book on script writing. However, I know that the people out there that are very creative and want to make a GOOD movie will study up on the wisdom of the screenplay gurus and write a script that they can follow. As stated earlier, your screenplay doesn't have to be overtly professional, because you will not be pitching it to a production company. But it should be structured in such a way that it will grab and keep the audience's attention, and make the movie flow. In order to do that, you need to learn how to write a screenplay first.

You may be thinking to yourself "it's only a sims movie..." Yes that is true, but it's still art, it's still your creation and past-time, so why not spend some time making it the best you can make it? Why not spend time creating something that you will be proud of for the rest of your life? Just because you won't be making any money from it doesn't mean that it's worthless or a waste of time. The hobbies you partake of define who you are even more so than a job does. Hobbies can teach you new skills while you express youself, and they are your way of leaving your mark on society. I can never understand people who put down people who produce art, saying that they "need to get a life" and so forth. When you observe the art in a museum, or read a novel or go see a play by a renowned playwrite, do you think that these artists just "needed to get a life"? No, because these works of art are a sign that they lived. I would imagine the people saying "get a life" only say that because you aren't making money off of the art you produced. But you don't need to make money off of art. It can be something you do on the side for yourself. Like I said, it shows that you lived, and it's your mark on society. For some people, life revolves around money, and that's why they won't partake in any hobbies or try to produce anything. Because to them, if it doesn't make money, it's a waste of time. And that's a darn shame.

So, to wrap things up, decide if you need a script, spend time learning how to make a script, and then write it!

Some people learn by seeing, and some learn by hearing...and some learn by acting out the information they recieved.
